Most wireless earbuds are glued shut. When the battery stops holding a charge, the whole product is finished. Fairphone asked us to design a pair that does not end that way.

The result is a set of earbuds with active noise cancellation, plus a charging case, where the batteries can be replaced by the owner. Our industrial designers and engineers worked out the split lines, the fit and the assembly, so the housing can be opened, serviced and closed again while staying small enough to sit comfortably in your ear. Recycled ABS and PC, silicone, and Fairtrade gold in the electronics.

iFixit scored the Fairbuds 10 out of 10 for repairability. The Henry van de Velde Awards gave them bronze in the Consumer category.
